Swimmer's Ear

What is swim ear?

Swimmer’s ear (also known as otitis externa) is a bacterial infection typically caused by water that stayed in the outer ear canal for a long period of time, providing a moist environment for bacteria to grow.

Prevention

Put ear drops in ears after you swim every time and dry ears completely.

Some people on our swim team use a homemade solution.  You can find it on this website.  https://uihc.org/health-topics/otitis-externa-get-rid-swimmers-ear

Note : If your child has any existing ear problems please contact your physician about these ear drops before using them.
